Working at DIVA has broadened my understanding of what it means to contribute to social change through my profession. Coming from a finance background, I initially saw my role as ensuring that financial records were accurate, budgets were managed well, and donor requirements were met. Over time, I have come to realise that finance is also a form of service that helps make DIVA’s vision and programmes possible.

Being part of a feminist organisation has shown me that every role contributes to creating impact. Whether it is supporting project teams, preparing donor acquittals, strengthening financial systems, or ensuring accountability, my work helps communities, movements, and partners continue their important work.

One of the things I value most is working in an environment that encourages learning, inclusion, and collaboration. It has challenged me to think beyond numbers and understand the stories and people behind every project. I have learned that financial stewardship is not only about compliance but also about respecting the trust placed in the organisation by donors, partners, and the communities we serve.

Working in a feminist organisation has also inspired me to continuously improve. I enjoy finding ways to strengthen processes, improve efficiency, and build systems that make work easier for everyone while supporting transparency and good governance. Knowing that these improvements contribute to DIVA’s sustainability and impact gives my work greater meaning.

For me, being part of DIVA is about more than managing finances. It is about contributing my skills to an organisation that is working towards a more just, inclusive, and equitable society. It reminds me that every well-managed budget, every accurate report, and every strengthened process helps create the foundation for meaningful and lasting change.
